"The Bumbá project is very special to me, as it was a real challenge. It involved a very delicate and complex export of live animals in which we learned a lot. I believe that Domani managed not only to overcome this challenge but to go further. I say this because, even knowing the unfeasibility that the destination would have, the team remained even more committed, seeking to analyze questions such as: why there is still no bilateral agreement of this type involving the countries in question and the time this agreement could take, in addition to suggesting other possibilities of destinations that, through an analysis, proved to be interesting. In this way, we provide all the necessary knowledge so that the project could be implemented in the long term, even with other destinations. "

The Company

Frigorífico Ipê is one of the suppliers of the Ipê Foods network, which is specialized in differentiated meat cuts for quality consumption.

The company has 25 years of experience in the field and wanted to internationalize in the bovine field.

The Project

The company contacted Domani to find out the feasibility of exporting live cattle to an already chosen country and map out export expenditures to ensure that it would be a profitable enterprise.
Complete Planning - Bureaucratic, Logistic, and Financial - was carried out to meet the needs of Frigorífico Ipê. Thus, we proposed to analyze the feasibility of exporting live cattle to the chosen destination, paying attention to the legality of the procedure, and the logistical and financial issues.

Stages

Pre-Project

In the first stage of the project, a first alignment meeting was held with the allocated team to collect some essential information for the beginning of the execution. In this stage, a survey was also carried out on the commercial context of exporting live cattle to the destination chosen by the company. Besides, there was confirmation of the Mercosul Common Nomenclature (NCM) of products to be exported

Logistics Planning

Logistics Planning addressed the advantages and disadvantages of each transport mode and distribution channels. The consultants prepared a study of insurance and freight quotes applied to all sections that are part of the logistics between origin to the final destination, as well as the indication of the best ports. Besides, the team indicated the Incoterm (International Trade Term) that would best serve our client and clarified all issues related to customs clearance and clearance.

Bureaucratic Planning

The Bureaucratic Project aimed to analyze the specific mandatory documentation together with the presentation of models of the documents. Besides, the team provided strategic government and private contacts, that is, of the Institutions that interfere directly or indirectly in the export process. Finally, Domani analyzed the regulations for exporting products of animal origin in Brazil and importing them in the destination country.

Financial Planning

In the financial analysis, all expenses of the logistical and bureaucratic phases were mapped, creating an estimate of the total cost of exports, in addition to drawing some possible financing funds. Payment methods for the transaction between the exporter and the importer were also analyzed so that Domani indicated the safest and recommended one for the customer's case. For the total cost mapping, our Cost Calculator tool was delivered, which is constantly updated according to the exchange rate change.

Conclusion

The conclusion of the Bumbá Project brought together the compilation of all stages in a completely and visually way. In this final stage, the report pointed out whether or not it is possible to export standing cattle to the chosen destination, allowing the Ipê Group to avoid risks in its investments.

Results

With the conclusion of the project, it was possible to affirm to Frigorífico Ipê that there was no feasibility of exporting live cattle to the chosen country, as Brazil and the determined country did not have a phytosanitary agreement between them, which was essential for the export to occur in a legally way. However, we inform Frigorífico Ipê that there is an agreement under negotiation and that in the future it may be possible to export to the chosen country.

Although it is not feasible to export to the desired country, Domani Consultoria considers this project to be a successful case, as it avoided a future loss for the company in the export process. The success of our customers is a major point of attention and we always seek to do the best for them and their ventures.
